School Direct Initial Teacher Training

Excalibur Teaching School Alliance offers School Direct Teacher Training through a partnership of Primary and Secondary schools in Bristol, West Berkshire & Wiltshire. We work in collaboration with Bath Spa University and Bristol University to develop and deliver cutting-edge teacher training programmes.

Excalibur TSA has two ITT hubs

  • one in Wiltshire, based at St John’s Marlborough, working with Bath Spa University to deliver Primary and Secondary PGCE programmes
  • one in Bristol, at Fairfield High School, working with Bristol University to deliver Secondary PGCE programmes

Our flexible approach to teacher training enables us to meet your needs and interests in both rural and urban locations across a range of secondary schools, with primary placements available in the Marlborough local area.

What makes us special?

Our schools are situated in excellent geographical locations, close to the M4 and with access to the thriving cities of Bristol, Reading and Swindon. This enables us to offer a unique blend of urban and rural educational experiences. Our Marlborough hub offers Primary and Secondary ITT placements as well as the opportunity to experience Key Stage 2/3 cross-phase teaching.
