Dyslexia is a specific learning difficulty that can seriously affect a young person’s chances of fulfilling their potential and fully engaging in learning. This session explores what dyslexia is and how we can use a range of strategies to empower young people to make academic progress, understand their learning journey and identify as successful learners.

This twilight session will further your knowledge of:

  • signs of dyslexia
  • strategies to enable learning for students with dyslexia.

You will also receive information resources to share with colleagues to maximise the impact of this training in your setting.

Who is the course for?

For SEND Co-ordinators, teachers from all settings, ELSAs, HLTAs, teaching assistants and anyone supporting young people in an educational setting.

Emma Rossiter is Deputy Headteacher at Rowdeford School. Emma provides expert training and support about the strategies that enable young people to overcome their challenges and achieve their potential. Emma is an outstanding practitioner and experienced trainer with expertise in both mainstream and specialist settings. Emma’s training is inspiring, reflective and practical.
