About the Phonics Programme
Our Department of Education SSIF funded project aims to improve pupils’ mastery of basic phonic knowledge to develop speed and fluency so that the children become confident, mature readers with a passion for reading. The schools in our programme are developing a high level of expertise with 52 Phonics Champion Teachers and 52 Phonics Teaching Assistants trained to deliver the programme in their schools. We also have 18 Phonics Specialist Leaders of Education working with schools, ensuring a high level of school to school support.
From January 2019 all of training modules and resources that have been developed will be available to all schools through this website. If you have any questions please get in touch.
