CANCELLED: SEND – What is pathological demand avoidance (PDA) and how can we support students – Emma Rossiter @ St John's
Jun 16 @ 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm

Emma Rossiter is Deputy Headteacher at Rowdeford School. Emma provides expert training and support about the strategies that enable young people to overcome their challenges and achieve their potential. Emma is an outstanding practitioner and experienced trainer with expertise in both mainstream and specialist settings. Emma’s training is inspiring, reflective and practical.

Students with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) find all demands stressful and schools are, by their nature, full of demands! Fortunately, there are strategies that all of us working in education can use to make life easier.

This session will explore what it means to have PDA, how PDA is part of the autism spectrum and expert ways we can work with young people with PDA. This session will give you practical strategies that you can use straight away and that you can share with your colleagues to make learning even better in your setting

You will also receive information resources to share with colleagues to maximise the impact of this training in your setting.

Who is the course for?

For SENCos, teachers from all settings, ELSAs, HLTAs, teaching assistants and anyone supporting young people in an educational setting.

ELSAs, HLTAs, teaching assistants and anyone supporting young people in an educational setting.
